Chairman of the Board of Directors at Classic Fine Foods: Damien Veilleroy

Damien Veilleroy

Damien Veilleroy is a member of the Operating Board METRO Cash & Carry and as Operating Partner, he is responsible for India, Pakistan and Vietnam. In addition, he has functional mandate for Food Service Delivery and Multi-Specialist countries. Damien joined METRO in 2011 as Chief Customer Officer for Asia and CIS. Prior to METRO, he spent 17 years with the Carrefour Group, where he assumed various senior positions including Executive Director Hypercash and Commercial Director. He was also a board member of Carrefour France and Carrefour China. Damien has extensive experience over geographies, having managed various business units in Asia for 12 years, in Europe for 5 years and in Latin America for 2 years. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Kees Kerremans

Kees Kerremans has been appointed CFO of METRO Cash & Carry China since 2013. Previously he held various other CFO positions across MCC Asia (incl. CFO MCC Focus countries, CFO MCC Asia & New Markets). Before joining Metro in 2007, Kees worked as CFO at E Plus from 2002-2006 and at Nortel-DASA from 1998-2002. He holds a Master of Business Economics degree from the University of Tilburg.

Philippe Palazzi

Philippe Palazzi is a member of the Operating Board METRO Cash & Carry and as Operating Partner, he is in charge of France, Spain and Portugal. As Chief Marketing Officer, he has the functional mandate for Branding & Activation, Own Brand and CRM & Pricing tools. Furthermore, he is in charge of the HoReCa Federation. Among other positions, Philippe was Managing Director of Metro Cash & Carry Italy (2011-2014) and was appointed Chief Customer & Marketing Officer METRO Cash & Carry in October 2014. In 1994 he joined METRO Cash & Carry France, initially in Operations as Department Manager for Dry and then for Ultra Fresh in France. All in all, Philippe has almost 25 years of experience in retail and wholesale, having started his career as Department Manager at Carrefour in France. Philippe holds an MBA degree from H.E.C. Paris Business School and an ADP degree from London Business School.

Chief Executive Officer: Fergus Balfour - joined May 2011

Fergus-Balfour

Fergus joined Classic Fine Foods after spending the previous four years as Chief Operating Officer for Unilever Food Solutions in Asia, Africa and Middle East where he led a €450m food service business across 17 countries and created a large and successful business in China. ‬ Fergus has a wealth of management experience from his many years with Unilever, having worked in marketing, senior HR roles and General Management. He has lived and worked in 7 different countries (Indonesia, Singapore, USA, Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa, Middle East,) and occupied both country, regional and global roles. ‬ ‬

Chief Financial Officer: Paul Young - joined May 2011 

Paul-Young

Paul is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales. Before joining Classic Fine Foods he was with SSL International plc, where he was Regional Finance Director for Asia Pacific. Paul began his career as an auditor in the UK.
