For the first time since its inception, Classic Fine Foods was present at Sirha with a booth to welcome its clients and partners from around the world. Sirha is one of the most important world hospitality and food service events that takes place bi-annually. Held in Lyon from 26th to 30th January 2019, it saw a record-breaking attendance with 225,031 professional visitors including 30,581 international visitors.
The Classic Fine Foods booth, located at Hall 6 9A within the partners village, was accessible only to VIP visitors. It was also strategically located next to the Chefs Area that welcomed the 3 main international contests: Bocuse d'or, Pastry World Cup and International Catering Cup.
Over 5 days packed with fruitful exchanges and innovations, we welcomed prestigious chefs from all over the world, engaged in discussions with many of our valued partners and supported teams that participated in the Bocuse d’or and Pastry World Cup. Tom Philips from the UK finished 10th in the Bocuse d’or and The UK pastry team finished 5th in the Pastry World Cup, the best-ever result for the UK in the final. Classic Fine Foods UK sponsored the team who spent months training in TheTasteLab by Classic Fine Foods in London. Sarju Ranavaya, Assistant Pastry Chef for TheTasteLab by Classic Fine Foods London was part of the UK team as the chocolate candidate and Denis Drame MCA, Pastry chef for TheTasteLab by Classic Fine Foods London was the team’s coach.
